Release of PictureFrame® 2.2 a new comprehensive camera control and image-processing software

SANTA BARBARA, CA - December 2004 - Optronics® , a manufacturer of easy-to-use advanced scientific grade CCD cameras for microscopy, announces the release of PictureFrame 2.2 a new comprehensive camera control package and advanced image-processing suite included at no charge with their new line of Firewire based cameras.

PictureFrame 2.2 includes a new graphical user interface (GUI) that controls the CRI® Macro-ColorT tunable liquid crystal RGB filter. Three independent exposures can be taken and combined automatically, generating a high resolution RGB color image. The implementation of this filter provides full CCD pixel utilization and full co-site sampled RGB resolution with resolution up to 12 million pixels for their line of quantitative monochrome cameras.

Other PictureFrame 2.2 features include: Auto-Exposure, Real-Time Six Channel User Adjustable Color Correction with customizable algorithm for precise color reproduction, Live Pseudo Coloring that permits the human eye to discriminate in real-time millions of intensity levels within a monochrome image and Live Frame Averaging with Motion Compensation Control that increases dynamic range and reduces read noise. Other real-time functions include live Gamma, Brightness, Contrast control and much more. Post processing features include Six Channel Multiplexed Fluorescent Imaging, a highly sophisticated imaging tool that effortlessly combines up to six different image files of various bit depths. Color Merge, Measurement and Annotation, Image Scripting, Macros, Flat-Field Batch Processing for Flat-field correction/Background subtraction and Report Generation functionality are also included.

PictureFrame 2.2 is a free upgrade to all Optronics customers currently using earlier versions of PictureFrame, and is now available for download, online at
