Lumenera Corporation releases new high-sensitivity, cooled CCD digital camera

Ottawa, Ontario, Canada - July 1, 2005 - Lumenera Corporation, a leading developer and manufacturer of high performance digital cameras and imaging solutions, today announced the release of a new cooled USB2.0 digital camera aimed at the scientific market. The INFINITY3-1 is based on a high quality 12-bit CCD sensor, ideal for extremely low light conditions and long exposure quantitative analysis applications.

The INFINITY3-1 employs the highly successful and popular 2/3" Sony ICX285 CCD sensor with 1.4 megapixel resolution. The extremely sensitive Sony CCD sensor, combined with high dynamic range and low noise as a result of proprietary Peltier cooling technology, designates the INFINITY3-1 an ideal choice for extended exposure and low light fluorescent applications where 12 bit data is required for analysis.

The INFINITY3-1 is offered with both color and monochrome capability and is fully supported by the INFINITY Capture software, an intuitive user interface that includes all of the basic features required to control the camera and capture crisp clear images. INFINITY cameras also include TWAIN drivers which ensure the integration and compatibility with a variety of 3 rd party software applications. The plug-and-play high speed USB 2.0 interface produces extremely high frame rates through binning and ROI allowing real time preview and focus.

"We are very excited to be introducing our first cooled camera, the Infinity 3-1," stated Larry Whelan Director of Business Development, Scientific Division. "The release of this camera signifies a major growth step in Lumenera's scientific camera product line where high sensitivity and image clarity are critical to our customer's results. This high sensitivity camera is the first in a new family of superior performance cameras developed specifically to support the needs of fluorescent microscopists and our OEM biotechnology Partners. Complimentary integration to high end image analysis software and a full featured SDK addresses the performance demands of both End Users and biotechnology System Integrators."

Lumenera is pleased to announce that the INFINITY3-1 camera will be available for purchase as of July 1, 2005.
